Out of 17,051 registered voters, 2,528 participated or 14.8 percent. Last year, with a contested Selectmen race, 45.4 percent voted.
Library Trustee incumbents Gene Boylan, Greg Buchanan and Mary Regan held off challenger Barbara Mason. Regan was the top vote-getter with 1,234, Boylan had 1,173, Buchanan had 1,147 and Mason had 1,053.
The only other contested town-wide spot was park commissioner. Incumbent John Davis took 1,233 votes compared to Brendan Doyle’s 872.
Selectman Marion McEttrick, Treasurer Kevin Sorgi, Assessor M. Joseph Manning, Board of Health member Roxanne Musto, Housing Authority member Catherine Shea, Cemetery Trustee Bob Mason and Planning Board member Alex Whiteside were all re-elected.
In Precinct two, Michael Joyce—son of Sen. Brian Joyce—was elected to Town Meeting. Joyce, 18, may be the youngest-elected Milton resident ever.
Joyce had 207 votes in a competitive precinct that saw Selectman John Shields taking the last of nine available spots with 140 votes. The other Precinct two winners were Joseph Debesse Jr., David Ehrmann, Karen Friedman-Hanna, Stephen Morash, Ronit Voigt, Elizabeth White and Timothy Caulfield.
There were races in five other precincts.
In Precinct three, the winners were Kathleen Conlon, Frank Davis, Ruth Heiden, Kristine Hodlin, Richard Neely, Marylou Rundlett, Charles Winchester, Christian Carter Fahy and Omar Sanchez.
In Precinct five, the winners were Betsy Buchbinder, J. William Dolan, David Jeffries, Marjorie Jeffries, Clare Keating, James Mullen Jr., Philip Murphy and Anthony Sammarco.
In Precinct six, the winners were Donald Affanato, Mary Cobb, Janet Evans, Daniel Gallery, John Kiernan, Brian Linehan, Timothy Jay Lowney, John MacVarish and Patricia Reynolds.
In Precinct nine, the winners were George Barrett, Jeanne Conley, Katherine Haynes Dunphy, Dorothy Gardner, Helene Haddad, Eugene Irwin III, F. Beirne Lovely Jr., Robert Sweeney and Richard Ward.
In Precinct 11, the winners were Ruth Baltopoulos, Kristine Doherty, Kevin Donahue, Philip Driscoll, Charles McCarthy, Glenn Pavlicek, Anita Penta, Farrah Saint-Surin and Geoffrey Wilkinson.
More detailed election results will be published in next week’s edition of the Milton Times.
